I'm sure that by now you're aware of my love for mid-century fashion. History, or in this case, fashion, always repeats itself. So many styles and pieces that become trends nowadays are actually trends from way back. The flared out skirt, the pussy bow blouse, the wiggle dress, high waisted pants, polka dots etc. never go out of fashion because once a classic, always a classic!
For timeless, classic and classy clothing, Esprit is the perfect brand. When I lived in Rome, I used to go to Esprit in town but now where I live, there aren't any Esprit stores nearby. Luckily, this company has an on-line shop so one doesn't even need to step outside to purchase the perfect wardrobe staples! Here are a few of my favorite items and my recommendations for building a timeless wardrobe:
This denim jumpsuit is sooo reminiscent of the 1940s. Very factory girl! :)
These classic lace-ups are perfect for the jumpsuit. The beautiful nude color makes them so versatile. I'd wear them with anything!
Every lady needs a little black dress and this one is special because of the gorgeous bow, emphasizing your waist:
Coral keeps on trending and this gorgeous dress will brighten up anyone's mood!
This dress below is so cute and playful! Polka dots and tulle? A perfect match!
Speaking of polka dots, this taupe colored dress is perfect for the office,
the day time, a night out....it's a real classic and it's also available in navy blue.
A black skirt is another essential and I particularly like this one
because of the pretty pleats and the way it flares out:
You could wear this classy pussy-bow blouse with the black skirt. If you zoom in, you'll notice they're not polka dots but little diamonds on the shirt! I just love ribbons, bows and pussy-bows; they're so lady-like and chic. Almost every lady wears this kind of blouse in the period drama, Mad Men (set in the 1960s):
Another must have top is this timeless striped tee (available in many other colors). Can you imagine how good it would look with the black, flared skirt?? Again, stripes never go out of fashion. Think Coco Chanel, Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot....and most importantly, Elvis in Jailhouse Rock ;)
Last but not least, for the love of polka dots, here's a funtastic mod-style dress. Black and white is always right! :)

Ciao bambole,
