I hope you're having a nice summer. The temperatures are super high over here. I've been drinking lots of lemonades and eating lots of granitas (shaved ice/slushies) and my tummy is looking flatter. I don't even know how to begin this blog post because I'm so over the moon! Author, journalist and photographer (and huge Elvis fan!), Zoey Goto, has written an amazing book called Vintage Style and can you guess who is featured in this book? MOI! :)

In Vintage Style, I reveal when and how I started dressing vintage. It's full of fun facts about me! She expounds upon rockabilly music and fashion in the book, and also asks me about my musical career. I am deeply honored that she interviewed me for her spectacular book 💖

Dresslily Vintage Halterneck Dress Review

I hope you're enjoying the summer. It's funny how I couldn't wait for summer to come (I'm not a big fan of winter) and now that summer is here, all I want is the shade/air conditioning/a fan!! I can't complain though because not only does summer mean ice cream and granitas (grated or shaved ice in Italy...I guess slushies in America?) but it also means: time to wear my beautiful dresses! I received this lovely, halter vintage plaid print dress from dresslily recently and finally got to wear it, now that the sun is out!

Look at the cute pockets on this dress!

In this close-up, you can see how the halter straps, neckline and sewn-in belt are made out of a silk-like material that gives off a pretty sheen.

Do you like the dress? I obviously do! It's like a modern version of 1950s/1960s style dress. I really like the details (the buttons, the pockets and the frilly part at the bottom of the dress) and I like how lightweight the material is! It would look amazing with a petticoat underneath too. As for sizing, I got a size M and it is slightly large around the waist and bust area so I probably could have gotten a smaller size but maybe it's better this way....I can eat all the ice creams I want now! ;)

In my previous post, I showed you my Wishlist, bursting with retro-style items from www.rosegal.com and in today's post I'm going to show you two dresses I got from this fantastic, online clothing shop!

This is the perfect, red, rockabilly, halter dress!

I like how the dress nips in the waist and I love the sweetheart neckline. 

Both qualities make this dress very feminine and flattering!

Being a halter dress, there are two straps that you tie around your neck, easily adjusting to your body.

Shake, rattle and roll down the stairs! Haha

 This dress is 95% cotton and 5% spandex. It's soft and it has just the right amount of thickness, being neither too thin nor too thick. I'm really impressed with the quality. As for sizing, I followed the chart on Rosegal's website and chose the smallest size, S. The dress fits me to a T so I can confirm that it runs true to size. Lengthwise, this dress covers my knees, reaching a bit below them, which is exactly what I like and look for in a '50s style dress.

The Bohemian Style Floral Print Strapless Dress for Women

I chose this dress because of the gorgeous, Hawaiian inspired, floral print! 
I love it because you can dress it up and wear it to a cocktail party or 
you can wear it on a lovely summer's day, at the beach. 

Yes, this dress has pockets!!! <3

This dress is also great quality, made out of stretchy material that perfectly hugs your body in the right places! I chose a size Small, following the bust and waist measurements, indicated on Rosegal's chart and you can see that it fits me perfectly. The dress also came with a cute, little belt made out of the same fabric. Oh, and did I mention that the dress has pockets??

      ....And the Final Verdict is.....

There's nothing not to love about the two dresses I have from Rosegal! The dresses are dreamy, the prices are very convenient, the quality is great, as is the service. Not only is the staff efficient and quick to respond to your queries, can you believe that I received the package in only 4 days?? I'm very satisfied with my experience at Rosegal.
