Rainy day blues (and caramelized bananas). Giornata di pioggia (e banane caramelizzate)

Today is one of those gloomy, rainy days and the news is saddening to watch. The wind has been howling continuously. I'm going to finish reading a book I started recently: Lady Sings the Blues by Billie Holiday. It's an autobiography so it's fascinating to get such a personal look at the legendary vocalist's life during the 1930s and onwards.

If you're lazy like me, here's an easy recipe for a Banana and Yogurt Treat.

Ecco una ricetta facile per i pigri come me, un Dolce di Banane & Yogurt.

Ingredients:

200 grams of yogurt (preferably the thick, Greek kind)/   200 g di yogurt Greco

4 ripe bananas                                                                4 banane mature

Handful of sliced almonds                                               Mandorle affetate

50 grams of butter                                                          50 g di burro

50 grams of powdered sugar                                          50 g di zucchero velato

80 grams of coconut flakes                                             80 g di cocco grattugiato

6 teaspoons of maple syrup                                     6 cucchiai di sciroppo d'acero

Instructions:

Melt the butter in a pan and add banana slices. Stir for a few minutes and add the maple syrup, letting it cook for another 5 mins. Meanwhile, mix the yogurt with the coconut and sugar. Divide the yogurt into little bowls and then top with bananas, syrup and almonds. You can add a few chocolate chips or M&Ms if you want to splurge.

Fate sciogliere il burro in una padella e aggiungete le banane affetate. Cuocete per un paio di minuti, e dopo aver aggiunto lo sciroppo, cuocete per altri 5 minuti Intanto, mischiate bene lo yogurt con il cocco e lo zucchero. Dividete lo yogurt nelle coppette e coprite con la salsa di banane e infine, le mandorle affetate. Se volete proprio esagerare, potete aggiungere un po' di gocce di cioccolato o delle M&Ms.
