Elvis Milkshake

Hi guys and dolls!

In August, I went to an American Diner (American Graffiti) with my friend Bibi. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that one of their milkshakes is called ''Elvis Milkshake''!!! I was in seventh heaven. It's the first thing I ordered, of course :)

In agosto sono andata al diner, American Graffiti con la mia amica Bibi. Non ho creduto ai miei occhi quando ho visto che servivano un milkshake che si chiama ''Elvis''!!! E' fatto con gelato alla vaniglia, banane, burro d'arachidi, sciroppo di cioccolato e panna montata. Un milkshake degno di un Re ;) Ero in paradiso:

The milkshake contains vanilla ice-cream, peanut butter, banana, chocolate syrup and whipped cream on top! Fit for a King ;)

Blue Moon of Kentucky, Heartbreak Hotel, Long Tall Sally, Shake Rattle and Roll, Tutti Frutti.....so many songs to choose from! 

 For dessert, I went for a banana split.....

I wasn't expecting such a big portion!!

Inutile dirlo ma questa esperienza è stata un sogno per me. Musica anni 50, cibo anni 50 e location anni 50.....potrei subito trasferirmi in questo diner! 

Mi berrei un Elvis milkshake al giorno ;)

Needless to say, this whole diner experience was a dream to me! 1950s food, 1950s music, 1950s style location. I could easily move out of my house and live here. I'd have an Elvis milkshake everyday! <3

Oh, do I have such a treat to show you and speak to you about today! Several days ago, the postman delivered a package and I knew what it was before opening it. When it comes to Elvis, I develop a sixth sense! It was the book I've been waiting for. The book we've all been waiting for:

He left an impact when he made his breakthrough and he continues to inspire and will continue inspiring millions of people, not only musically, but also aesthetically. This is what Elvis Style is about: the greatest singer, performer and entertainer that ever walked this earth, as an eternal style icon.

You'll become an Elvis expert after reading Elvis Style!!! The book contains so many fascinating facts about The King that I didn't know about. I won't reveal any, for your ease of suspense! ;)

Elvis Style a dream to me. Many of you know that Elvis has always been my idol, my hero and my number one source of inspiration, musically.  Since the past few years, he's also whom I look up to for style inspiration. I voraciously read the book and I'm not saying it just because I'm an Elvis devotee! The book transports you to Elvis' world and gives you a deep insight to it, including his preferences and his way of being. Elvis Style is written in such an interesting manner that you'll be hooked from the first page. Or from the cover actually ;) I also really like how the book contains Elvis quotes and inputs from numerous people who knew him. It adds an intimate, ''up close and personal'' quality. Figures in the fashion industry, also comment on the imprint he has left in the fashion world.

So, after swooning at the incredible photographs of handsome Elvis, learning about his tastes, about his continuous presence in the contemporary world, and after drooling over Chapter 3 (Elvis Food), I'm going to continue dreaming about the man who revolutionized the world of music and the world of fashion; the one and only: Elvis Presley.

I highly recommend Elvis Style by Zoey Goto. You will be ooohing and aaahing, reading this book. Guaranteed.

Ready Teddy - My Teddy Girl Look

Hi guys and dolls,

I do love my flared out, 1950s style dresses and though I try to look like a pinup girl for my photos, in reality I nearly always wear jeans, especially in this cold weather. I've always been captivated by the Teddy Boy and Teddy Girl style of the fifties. The outfits I'm wearing these days are in fact influenced by this trend but as I'm singing all of Elvis' early Sun Studio songs, now more than ever, 
The King is my number one source of inspiration ;)

E' vero che amo i miei abiti svasati, stile anni 50 e provo ad assomigliare ad una pin up per le mie foto, ma in realtà mi metto quasi sempre i jeans, soprattutto con questo freddo. Sono sempre stata affascinata dallo stile Teddy Boy e Teddy Girl degli anni cinquanta. Infatti gli outfits che indosso questi giorni prendono spunto da quel trend ma la mia fonte principale di ispirazione è lui ovviamente: Elvis. <3

Elvis Presley Inspired Outfits - How to dress like The King!

Elvis Presley is an eternal icon who left a huge imprint on the world and continues to inspire millions, consciously, subconsciously and unconsciously (yes, even after fainting ;)). I bump into teenage boys on the street with pompadours soo reminiscent of Elvis. Then on TV, Elvis' songs are blasting in commercials and just the other day I was watching the movie, ''Garfield'' where even the orange cat gets his hair done like Elvis! He says ''Well thank you, thank you very much ladies and gentlemen,'' while executing a karate move :) To say I love Elvis, is an understatement. He's my number one idol, my number one source of inspiration. Here are three Elvis inspired looks: 

1.) Total denim look

This look never goes out of fashion. It seems this is a recent trend but it goes way back! Here is a picture of Elvis in the movie, Roustabout (1964).

It's so easy to recreate this look! I got my jeans shirt and men's style, lace up shoes from Oviesse (a low-cost Italian store). My jeans are from Zuiki, another low cost clothing brand. I wear these three essential items so often, either together or separately. A black guitar is an optional accessory ;)

2.) Relaxin' on the couch, Elvis style

For this comfy outfit, you'll need a white bowling shirt, light colored pants and white shoes. My bowling shirt from Cruisin' USA is baby pink, with a black collar while my vintage pants are light apricot and they look exactly like Elvis', right?? As for the shoes, I couldn't find my saddle shoes, so I just wore white socks :)

3.) Jailhouse Rock outfit 

You'll need the darkest jeans and denim jacket you own, a striped tee and black shoes. Swing your hips and you'll be dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock in no time! ♫

I can't promise you any pictures of me wearing Elvis' stunning, gold lamé suit or his iconic white jumpsuit, but stay tuned for more Elvis inspired style! :)

Dire che amo Elvis sarebbe un eufemismo! Lui è il mio idolo, la mia fonte di ispirazione. Il re del rock and roll è un eterna icona che ha lasciato un segno nel mondo e continua tuttora ha ispirare milioni di persone, sia coscientemente che inconsapevolmente. Camminando per strada mi imbatto sempre in ragazzini con ciuffi che ricordano Elvis. In TV, si sentono le canzoni di Elvis nelle pubblicità. L'altro giorno guardavo il film, 'Garfield' su Italia Uno e perfino il gatto arancione imitava Elvis!!! :) Spero che vi siano piaciuti i miei tre look ispirati a Elvis!
