1950s Mexican style

Hi guys and dolls!

Hope you are well. I'm very lucky to be still enjoying sunny and warm weather over here. In today's post, I'm wearing two Mexican flavored outfits; many people often think I'm Mexican so these two outfits really bring out the Mexicana in me! :) The first one is my authentic 1950s Southwestern patio dress and the second outfit consists of my red capri pants and black peasant/gypsy top. I'm wearing my red headscarf of course and little red hoop earrings to complete the looks.
My little chi is also from Mexico of course so he is just perfecto
for this photoshoot! <3

Ciao a tutti!

Great minds dress alike!

Aloha Cats and Kittens,

Today's post is different from my usual ''Me, myself and I'' posts. Well, ok, I am partially in this post too ;) My blogger friend, Miss Milla Cherry, who is an Australian pinup doll, interviewed and featured me on her blog yesterday. You all should check her out! I love her style. We've been following each other for a while on Blogspot and Instagram, and I noticed that we have some things in common....including clothes! Below are some of our similar outfits. What's funny is that none of these pictures were taken for this post; these photos have all been snapped in the past, even before we knew each other!

Here we are, posing in our Banned flamingo print pieces;
I'm wearing the dress version while Miss Milla Cherry is wearing the skirt:
Aren't her cardi, bag and belt so cute??
My Fernando the Flamingo brooch is from Jess Collinge
Here is lovely Miss Milla Cherry, wearing a skirt that looks very familiar.....
Oh yes, because I have it too. The color looks different but it's because of the lighting. I like how we both wore a white top with this Hawaiian skirt :)
Here we are wearing our Tiki/Hawaiian style dresses:

Both of us wore a necklace to match our dress.
Miss Milla has a splendid flower piece in her hair........
........and I'm wearing flower stud earrings:
Last but not least: wearing our Hawaiian shirts, sunglasses and a flower in our hair to complete the look. I don't know why I didn't tie my shirt in the front as I usually do! I was also wearing high waisted jeans so it's almost a twin outfit!

Hope you enjoyed this tropical, Hawaiian flavored post! Ciao dolls

Mad Men Style Wiggle Dress

Hi guys and dolls,
I always swoon over the dresses that the secretaries wear in the TV drama,
Mad Men, set in the 1960s. I love dresses with collars, bows and pussy bows so when my mother got me this wiggle dress a couple of years ago, I squealed with delight! I've worn it to work but it's also perfect evening/cocktail attire. For you lovely readers, I slipped it on yesterday and pulled out my notepad.
My typewriter was out of order ;)
******************************************************
Ciao bambole e bambolotti,

It's incredible how the cut of this dress and the belt make me look much thinner than I am! I did squeeze the belt real tight ;) Often, modern dresses make me look like a blob. It's really true that old fashioned dresses are flattering.

Stressed out secretary (my hair looks stressed out too).
This is how I sit and take notes. It's a very comfortable position.....

******************************************************
I tell ya, attempting pin-up poses is like doing intense yoga.
I used muscles I didn't even know I had!

Gotta rush! I think Don Draper wants more whiskey.......

Brigitte Squirrel Dress from Carousel

Hi dolls,

My dress from Carousel arrived!! I nearly kissed the post man!

Carousel is a vintage inspired clothing and accessories store based in Dublin, Ireland. For those who don’t live nearby, thank goodness they also have an online store: www.ilovecarousel.com

Carousel’s style is notably distinctive and as indicated on their website, it ‘‘mixes a blend of feminine, romantic prints with effortless, wearable fashion.’’ In their shop, you will find retro inspired clothing items from their own brand called Circus, and items from other vintage inspired brands, as well as authentic vintage apparel ranging from the 1950s - 1970s.

Shopping at Carousel, you will notice silhouettes of the past, pussy bows, peter pan collars, and polka dots. Talk about classy!

Ciao bambole,

The dress I’m wearing is the Brigitte Squirrel dress (available here)
 from Carousel’s own collection, Circus.
Brigitte dress: c/o Carousel
Shoes: Porta Portese, Rome
Hair flower: Brigitte Bijoux
Bag: vintage from mercato monti
My mother ruining my photo shoot!! ;) <3
Lo and behold, did you notice there are squirrels and hearts on this dress?
**************************************

***************************************************
I’m so pleased with my Brigitte Dress. The quality is excellent. It’s playful, graceful, and flattering. Carousel highlights the importance of looking good and feeling good. Indeed, this is the kind of  dress you can wear all day long, whether sitting down or prancing about. Comfortable and classy….who’d ever think they’d go together?? :)

If you’re a nostalgic lady, seeking charming and timeless attire, take a look at Carousel’s collection, where even the dresses have vintage names (Ava, Loretta, Twiggy, Joan etc.)! You’ll find a thing (or two, or three…) that will make your heart flutter.
