Cowgirls and Apples! ZAFUL Review

Howdy Guys and Gals!

Today I'm going to show you two fantastic items I got from Zaful (www.zaful.com). In my previous post, I showed you my wishlist, featuring retro inspired items from Zaful. From that post alone, you can tell what a great online store Zaful is! They sell a vast variety of clothing, swimwear, shoes, accessories in so many different styles (from vintage inspired to the latest trends). The prices are low, the quality is high and yes indeedy, they ship worldwide. 

Now, I love early country/hillbilly music and western fashion, so my eyes popped when I saw the below dress by Zaful! It's even prettier in person:

I love the flattering cut of the dress. There are two little flaps on the chest area and there are two straps which you tie into a bow behind. I just love that because it nips in the waist and plus you know, bows are pretty :) 

The material of the dress is soft and light; I wore it under the scorching sun, at the beach, at night, on an airplane and I'm surprised how comfortable it is (even after having a huge burger and even huger milkshake). In a rush, I stuffed it into my bag and scrunched it up into my suitcase but it's still in tip top shape! The color is gorgeous too, being a brick/rusty shade of red. It's available in other colors; red is my favorite but the black version is beautiful too!

What I love the most though is the fabulous print!

I think this is the kind of dress you can dress up and dress down. I'm wearing it with flat ballerinas in these photos but I've worn it with red sneakers for a more casual look and with black heels it makes for a great party dress! Oh and I'm sure it would look might swell with cowboy boots!! 

As you can see, the dress reaches right above my knees which is perfect for the summer. I've been running around in it and surprisingly the material hasn't made me sweat at all! As for sizing, I followed the size chart on Zaful's site and chose a size M, accordingly. The dress fits me perfectly; yay for precise size charts! 

You know what goes well with this cowgirl print dress?? A straw bag! 

Even better when there are apples on it!!!

Apart from being cute, whimsical and very original, it's sturdy and roomy.

I'm really happy with my dress and bag from Zaful. I confirm that not only are the items gorgeous, they're also of great quality. I was equally impressed by the efficient customer service and super quick (and tracked) shipping. 

I think I'm gonna go heard some cattle now.......

As you can see, the pleats and folds make this skirt very particular, 

giving it a mermaid-like silhouette.

Minnie Mouse Inspired Look

Hi cats and kittens,

After my Elvis inspired outfits, Lauren Bacall inspired look, now Minnie Mouse is my muse??! Haha don't worry, I'm not going to be wearing mouse ears or anything! The dress I'm wearing in this post is actually a vintage,1940s-1950s style dress and it's not flared out like Minnie's. It is bright red though and there are white polka dots on the top part. I own many red, polka dot pieces and whenever I wear them, friends and even strangers call me Minnie Mouse. It could also be the red ribbon in my hair.....anyway, I take it as a compliment. After all, Minerva ''Minnie'' Mouse is as vintage as can be! She was first drawn in 1928, alongside her mousefriend boyfriend, Mickey Mouse.

Dopo i miei look ispirati ad Elvis e a Lauren Bacall, ora è arrivato il turno di Topolina. Ahah, non vi preoccupate, mica mi metto le orecchie da topo! Il vestito che indosso in questo post è vintage, stile anni quaranta-cinquanta. Non è svasato come quello di Topolina però è rosso e ci sono i pois sulla parte superiore. Ho tantissimi capi rossi, a pois ed è forse per questo che i miei amici e persino sconosciuti mi chiamano ''Minnie'' quando me li metto. Potrebbe anche essere il fiocco rosso che ho spesso in testa ma qualunque sia il motivo, io lo prendo come un complimento. Dopotutto, Minnie è un icona vintage! 

E' stata creata nel 1928, insieme al suo Topolino ;) Più vintage di così!

It's a little baggy in the rib cage area and under the arms but I don't really mind! There are two straps which I tied into a bow in the back, by the way.

Mad Men Style Wiggle Dress

Hi guys and dolls,

I always swoon over the dresses that the secretaries wear in the TV drama, 

Mad Men, set in the 1960s. I love dresses with collars, bows and pussy bows so when my mother got me this wiggle dress a couple of years ago, I squealed with delight! I've worn it to work but it's also perfect evening/cocktail attire. For you lovely readers, I slipped it on yesterday and pulled out my notepad.

 My typewriter was out of order ;)

Impazzisco per gli abiti delle segretarie nella serie TV, Mad Men, ambientata negli anni sessanta. Impazzisco altrettanto per i vestiti che indossano le donne nelle serie Il Paradiso delle Signore e Velvet. Come si resiste ad un vestito con un colletto o un fiocco? Per questo ho fatto un salto di gioia quando mia madre mi ha regalato questo vestito a tubino con sia colletto che fiocchetto! Ho subito tirato fuori il mio block notes. La mia macchina da scrivere è fuori servizio ;)

It's incredible how the cut of this dress and the belt make me look much thinner than I am! I did squeeze the belt real tight ;) Often, modern dresses make me look like a blob. It's really true that old fashioned dresses are flattering.

Rockabilly - Secretary Outfit

 ♫ Hi Cats and Kittens ♫

Yippee, it's getting warmer! Today I wore my favorite vintage, checkered pencil skirt with a red 1950s-style  sweater. I decided to wear black shoes, a black belt (not in karate haha, I'm so funny) and opted for my black vintage bag to complete the look. I love wearing combinations of red, black and white. They're the perfect colors for rockabilly, pin up style outfits. Now that the weather's nice, I'll be wearing more skirts. Stay tuned for some Mad Men inspired outfits!

Il tempo sta finalmente migliorando quì, quindi oggi mi sono messa la mia gonna vintage a tubino con un maglioncino rosso, stile anni '50. Scarpe, cintura e borsa vintage nere per completare il mio look da segretaria rockabilly. Adoro vestirmi di rosso, nero e bianco. Sono i colori perfetti per lo stile Rockabilly/Pin Up.
